Popular local pub, The Eagle, on Ladbroke Grove, has now reopened with a new look and feel following an extensive refurbishment.
Prior to the launch, the landlords held an event at the Venture Centre to meet the local community, share the vision for the pub as well as showcase the menu, drinks and mood boards of the interiors.
The Eagle’s industrial-chic interior features two 500-litre copper tanks sitting in pride of place above the downstairs bar serving up Tank Beer renowned for its fresh-from-the-brewery taste. This distinctive beer is unpasteurised, unfiltered and continues to mature until poured and is one of the features of which the pub is most proud.
In addition to Tank Beer, The Eagle offers an extensive selection of spirits and an eclectic wine list selected by the in-house master of wine, John Clevely.
Food has a Bavarian twist and the menu changes seasonally. Signature plates include Bavarian sausage in a brioche bun with sauerkraut and ale-battered cod and chips. Seasonal mains vary but expect dishes such as smoked mozzarella and cavolo nero mac ’n’ cheese and dressed Dorset crab. Small sharing plates to enjoy with a drink are also available and priced at £5 each.
Landlord, Duncan Mutter says,
“ We are looking forward to being back in town and in the mix again. What a great diverse area this is; we see it as a really exciting challenge to deliver something for everyone but we hope that we’ve got it right and your Eagle is ready to soar again. Pop in and say hello and have a welcome drink in your local.”
