Since the New Year we have been working with the Residents’ Steering Group members on the various design guides that Catalyst will adhere to for the new buildings in Phases 2 and 3. These include the London Design Guide, Secure by Design and Lifetime Homes. This is to help the RSG and other residents to understand the parameters the architects are working within and how the designs are influenced.
We have also begun working with the RSG on the Frequently Asked Questions leaflet that will be given to residents before their move alongside the information they already get from Catalyst. This is to make sure we have learnt the lessons from previous phases, and to ensure that residents have all the information they require when their move is about to happen.
The RSG and Public Voice held our first public meeting in February. It included a presentation from Conran + Partners, the architects for Phases 2 and 3. Residents were able to ask questions to both the lead architect and Catalyst regeneration team. The meeting looked at how the current and future phases could learn the lessons from the first phase.
As of 25 April we started holding a tabletop surgery every fortnight outside Portobello Hall from 3pm – 6pm. If the weather turns against us we move into the hall.
As part of our service we will be door knocking and carrying out tabletop outreach on Wornington Green. We will advertise these sessions on the communal notice boards of the blocks we will be door knocking in. Lastly, we are actively looking for people who want to join the Residents’ Steering Group. This group meets monthly and is open to residents from all parts of Wornington Green and Portobello Square, including existing and new tenants and private owners.
