Summer Fun

On Wednesday 19 August, residents attended the Wornington Green Fun Day, which was organised by Catalyst and Mears Ltd to encourage neighbours to come together.

Thankfully the rain stayed away allowing residents to enjoy all the free activities that were provided including a tie-dye t-shirt workshop, face painting, free raffle and giveaways. Regular attendees of the residents’ coffee sessions were excited to spend the afternoon away from the residents’ room and mingle with other residents. The RBKC Community Kitchen Gardener also ran a workshop to show residents how easy it is to grow plants and herbs in their home. Everyone who took part in the workshop was given a pot of herbs to take home.

The event also gave us the opportunity to talk about the temporary orchard and encourage more residents to get involved with the maintenance workshops. Some residents also took the opportunity to sign up for plots in the community kitchen garden. Keep an eye on the Here & Now website and the communal notice boards for all upcoming events.

A special thank you to Mardel Roofing, Gibsons, Steve Clark and DMP O’Connell who provided funding contribution for the event.
