Community Fund, Here to Help

Kensington Housing Trust (KHT) Community Fund supports groups and organisations that make a difference within North Kensington. The Community Fund awards grants on a discretionary basis, usually in the region of £5,000, to help fund worthwhile initiatives.

The Community Fund has a management board of trustees which includes KHT residents, Keith Stirling, Denise Clingham and Nick Whitty. The board meets on a regular basis to discuss the groups and projects that qualify for a grant and award them on a twice-yearly basis to those activities that the trustees believe have the greatest impact.

Recent grant awards from the Community Fund include:

Age Concern Kensington & Chelsea

has received funding to employ a local person to provide additional advice and support for elders during the Wornington Green redevelopment. There are over 100 households with people aged 60 and over so there is a clear need.

Inspired Interactions

funding for a project that provides a range of family learning and fun events to be run at the Venture Centre.

The Moroccan Supplementary School

held at Kensington and Chelsea College Wornington Road site – with about 20% of Wornington Green residents being from the Moroccan community this is seen as an essential service.

Family Friends

a support group for families facing difficulties offering support from trained volunteers.
