The NewmanFrancis Independent Tenant Advice (ITA) Service has been busy making sure that residents have a voice and are able to influence what happens with the regeneration of Wornington Green.
The ITA has recently introduced “themed” resident meetings as a way of engaging with residents around specific issues. Also, as part of its outreach programme the ITA is trying to reach a broader range of residents by organising daytime meetings and also targeting specific groups, (such as the Moroccan community), who may not be well represented at the monthly meetings.
It’s going to be a busy few months and we hope you’ll be able to get involved and play a part in the regeneration of Wornington Green. We’d be very happy to hear from you!
Resident meetings take place on the last Thursday of every month and are open to everyone living in the new homes.
Thursday 31 October 6pm to 8pm at the Venture Centre
Thursday 28 November 6pm to 8pm at the Venture Centre
A Residents’ Advice Surgery (for one-to-one help) takes place before the meeting, 5.30pm to 6pm.
You can also follow the ‘Wornington Green Resident Steering Group’ on Facebook.
Over the last few weeks the ITA has been asking residents what issues relating to the regeneration they would like the ITA service to take up on their behalf. Here are just some of them:
how will the new development be managed and what kind of service can residents expect?
how will the Catalyst Team and partners make sure that the new development is a safe place for everyone to live?
what will happen to the park and how can residents play a part in helping to design a new improved park?
how will the Catalyst Team make sure that everyone abides by the new Neighbourhood Rules?
how will the new street plan work and how will traffic and parking be regulated?
how can this information be communicated in a way that’s easy for residents to understand?
