Community Fund Update

The sun is shining on North Kensington and the Kensington Community Fund has agreed to support some fantastic projects that provide amazing opportunities for local people:

  • A 6-week fun packed summer sports programme for local children run by Solidarity Sports
  •  A programme of activities and trips for Wornington residents run by the Wornington Green Community Group
  • An action packed residential trip to Hindleap Warren for 20 young people run by the Baraka Youth Association
  • Support for an oral history showcase by A-Hasaniya Moroccan Women’s Project at Leighton House as part of this summer’s prestigious Nour Festival
  • A training programme to help volunteers at the Migrant and Refugees Community Forum create ‘The Refuge’ a safe, peaceful community space where users can access information and guidance
  • Kitchen equipment for Café Nova, a fantastic community café under Westway run by local volunteers
  • The Notting Hill Nurseries Carnival, an annual extravaganza enabling younger children and families to experience their own carnival in Kensington Memorial Park
  • Promoting awareness of youth and gang violence and the support available to parents and carers through Generation 2 Generation
  • Affordable counselling with registered and experienced practitioners for local people through the HELP counselling centre
