The Charter sets out what existing residents can expect from Kensington Housing Trust during the redevelopment of the estate. A summary of the Charter has recently been sent out to tenants who will benefit from the commitments in the Charter.
A particular big thank you to Keith Stirling, Lesley Dillon, Roy Dunning and Christine Dingle who worked with the Trust and First Call (the Independent Tenant Advisors for Wornington Green between February 2009 and July 2011) to develop the Charter.
A revised Decanting (re-housing) Policy has recently been endorsed by the Trust’s Board to ensure that the wording in the policy where appropriate mirrors the wording in the Charter, to incorporate lessons learned to date and to give more clarity to aspects of the policy. One of the significant changes is that we have removed the 9 February 2010 date for adult household members’ right to return to the new development. This means that all adult household members are now eligible to be rehoused in the new development. The Trust will be contacting the individuals affected (ie those that have already moved off the estate) to find out if they want to exercise their right to return.
For more information, if you have any questions or if you would like a copy of the full Charter please contact Sue Hannah or another member of the Wornington Green Team.
