A new trainee has joined Goldfinger Factory for a traineeship in Admin and Marketing, sponsored by Catalyst.
Launched in 2016, Goldfinger Factory’s traineeship programme enables companies to sponsor a trainee to earn while they learn at Goldfinger Factory.
A third of Goldfinger Factory’s profits go back into local projects, so the investment delivers benefits far beyond the trainee themselves. Other corporate sponsors helping to change the lives of local people include French luxury brand Hermès and landowner South Kensington Estates.
By sponsoring a place on the programme, Catalyst creates another paid traineeship for the local area, and provides Goldfinger with an extra pair of hands to grow their flourishing upcycling projects.
On the programme, trainees are provided with one-on-one training and work experience in business management support roles spanning marketing, operations and finance; or a swathe of traditional skills such as carpentry, metalwork and paint effects.
The aim of the programme is for the trainees to develop skills that will enable them to find full-time employment after their traineeship.
Here are a few words from Goldfinger Factory’s newest recruit:
“ Since working at Goldfinger Factory, I have been given a great introduction into admin and marketing and with the support of the team, I have begun to develop my skills within this field. The trainee programme has given me a fantastic opportunity to work for and understand how a small business and social enterprise operates, and will allow me to gain valuable experience which I will endeavour to use throughout my career.”
