The new section of Athlone Gardens is now open. It is owned and managed by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
RBKC are exploring options for putting in place some permanent amenities in the space that will last throughout the regeneration process. When we build Dickens and Eliot Mansions, the section of the existing park containing the children’s play equipment will become part of the building site.
By adding some amenities to the new section before this point, RBKC will help to ensure that the park remains a fun and inviting place for people to spend time. RBKC have asked us to explore options for these amenities with our landscape architects. These will be based on the consultation about the park that RBKC carried out with residents in July 2016. Before making any changes to the park, RBKC will consult with residents again. Catalyst will also be involved in this consultation.
