A great way to kick of the New Year
Over the last year local residents have been getting fit, thanks to the new Portobello Walks initiative. The walks are free, fun, suitable for all fitness levels and are led by trained volunteers who ensure that everyone is looked after and has a great time.
Anyone living in North Kensington is welcome to join the walks, which take place every Wednesday between 6pm to 7pm. There is no need to book, just turn up at the meeting-point, the bench in the entrance hall of Sainsbury’s, off Ladbroke Grove. Remember to wear suitable footwear for walking and weather-appropriate clothing.
The walks start promptly at 6pm so ensure you arrive a few minutes early to avoid missing out. Don’t worry if it’s your first time, the walk leaders will greet you at the meeting point, welcome you to the group and brief you on the route. The map below shows the route we follow during the walk.
The walk is resident-led and has been officially recognised by the Ramblers Association National Walking for Health Programme. For more information contact the Wornington Green Community Group on 07572 137546.
