Free children’s activities , computer classes and help to find work at the Venture Centre

The Venture Centre provides a range of activities for children aged 5 to 15 including arts and crafts and sports activities to name a few. All sessions are supervised by qualified, experienced Playworkers. The playground is open after school from 3.30pm to 6.45pm (a healthy warm meal is provided), on Saturdays from 11am to 4.30pm and during school holidays.

For children who love to dance, Tip Top dance school provide ballet, jazz and street dance tuition run by an expert dance teacher. Rates are affordable and students do regular performances.

Adults who desire to improve their English or computer skills whilst making new friends are encouraged to join one of the Centre’s courses, which is run by Nova, a local charity, whose experienced tutors deliver courses for local people every term.

Every Wednesday and Thursday at 1.30pm the Centre serves a homemade healthy lunch for only í1.50 prepared by one of the Centre’s Health Champions. The Centre also offers a fun, affordable range of fitness classes including; Yoga, Pilates and African Dance. All classes are run by qualified instructors and there is no need to book in advance.

Did you know that the Venture Centre has its very own steel pan yard and a resident band; the Glissando Steel Orchestra? Glissando offer free steel pan lessons for adults and children led by award-winning steel pan players.

On Tuesday 17 February local families are invited to a day of music tuition with the Royal Academy of Music. No previous experience is required and instruments will be provided but you do need to call and register in advance.
