As mentioned in the last edition of Here & Now, the older people’s Outreach Project provides a range of services and support to residents on the estate. Some of the services includes; de-cluttering and garden clearance, benefits checks and help to reclaim PPI. So far, Bernice the Community Outreach Worker assisted tenants to reclaim over £6,000 PPI by dealing directly with the bank or Credit Card Company on behalf of the tenant.
Bernice has and will continue to do targeted Outreach to try to engage older residents who might benefit from additional services and support. Over the coming weeks she will be visiting tenants in Paul and Watts Houses to introduce herself. In the meantime, if you have a problem that you need help with, don’t wait for Bernice to visit, please get in touch to arrange an appointment for a home visit.
A fantastic time was had by all those who attended the trip to Kew Gardens on Wednesday 2 July. Look out for details of upcoming trips and activities in the next edition of Here & Now.
Don’t forget that the Coffee Afternoon takes place every Wednesday 2.30pm – 4pm. Pop in and have a chat and a cuppa. Our contractor Ardmore’s Residents Liaison Officer also attends the Coffee Afternoon to give updates on the re-development of the estate.
