Construction Travel Management Plan

The Construction Traffic Management Plan covers all vehicles associated with the demolition and construction work. The plan is phased to change as the demolition and construction process moves through the estate.

Throughout the plan

  • All traffic will be between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm on weekdays and 8am and 1pm on Saturdays. Vehicles arriving outside of these hours will be turned away. No construction traffic is allowed on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
  • All deliveries will have an appointment and will be timed to avoid the school run.
  • Alternative arrangements are in place for Fridays and Saturdays to further reduce any potential impact on the Golborne Road Market. No construction traffic will be allowed along the section of Golborne Road between Portobello Road and Wornington Road.
  • All reversing and turning will take place on site. Where this is not possible, it will be supervised by trained banksmen.

The current traffic plan

The current arrangements are in place until August 2014 and cover the demolition of Lionel House, the first part of Telford House and the construction of Block 3.

Construction Traffic Route
Monday – Thursday

  • Traffic serving the demolition of Lionel House and construction of the temporary park will arrive and leave the site along Telford Road. To avoid the school run times all traffic between 8am and 9am and after 3pm will arrive and leave via Faraday Road.
  • Traffic serving the demolition of the first part of Telford House will arrive along Bonchurch Road, travel up Portobello Road and leave via Faraday Road.
  • Between Monday and Thursday traffic serving the construction of Block 3 will get to the site via Kensal Road, turning off Golborne Road and entering the site from Wornington Road. All traffic will leave from the Portobello Road end of the site via Bonchurch Road.

Construction Traffic Route
Friday – Saturday

  • On Friday and Saturday traffic serving the main construction site will access it via Bonchurch Road.

The next traffic plan

The next phase will start in August and serve the construction of Block 2 and 3. Details in a future issue nearer to the time.
