On Saturday 23 February over 50 people took up the opportunity to attend a drop-in session hosted by the Residents’ Steering Group to launch the consultation on the design of the next phase of the redevelopment of Wornington Green.
As well as meeting architects from Conran & Partners, the architects for Phase 2, those who came to the event were able to find out which parts of the design they can influence during the consultation.
Speaking at the event, Rob Merlini of the Residents’ Steering Group said; “If you have things that you would like to see incorporated into the designs, now is the time to get involved. Don’t wait until it’s too late. We’ll be working in partnership with the architects to learn the lessons from Block 1 and influence the designs of the next phase as much as possible”.
Between now and the planning application for Phase 2, which will be submitted this summer, members of the Residents’ Steering Group will have monthly meetings with the architects and Project Team to be updated on the emerging designs and have an input on specific issues including the external appearance of the buildings, design of the common areas and the internal layout of the new flats.
There will be a chance to see the designs that will be submitted to the council at a drop-in event in June or early July. Meanwhile, if you are interested in coming to any of the meetings you can contact the Independent Tenants’ Advisor on 0800 644 6040.
