Update from NewmanFrancis

NewmanFrancis is providing the new Independent Tenants’ Advice service at Wornington Green. Over the next few months we aim to meet as many of you as possible and make sure that local people play a meaningful role in the regeneration of the area.

We will be doing this by making sure that there are opportunities for all groups of residents to be represented. We will be carrying out regular table top outreach and door knocking on the estate. We will also be meeting with local groups and attending events and activities in the Venture Centre and Residents’ Room.

We are also working with the Residents’ Steering Group helping to give it a stronger voice and more influence over what happens on the estate.

We are working on an Action Plan with the Residents’ Steering Group. So far the following priorities have been identified:

  • Greater Phase 2 involvement – including a role in the architect recruitment and the establishment of a Design Team
  • Developing a stronger Residents’ Steering Group
  • Involving as many residents as possible through public meetings, a community event, an RSG newsletter and targeted outreach

Don’t forget that the Residents’ Steering Group meetings are held the last Thursday of every month, 6.00pm – 8.00pm at the Venture Centre. There will be a regeneration, repairs and maintenance surgery from 5.30pm – 6.00pm, before the meetings. Please see the events section at the back of the newsletter for outreach dates for December.
