Work to create a new compound has involved using part of the existing skate park opposite Watts House. As additional drainage works were required we had to dig up some of the remaining skate park. As originally agreed, the area not used as a compound will be re-instated as a skate park.
The reason for creating the new compound is so that we can move some of the existing cabins to this area. When this work is finished we will start to prepare the ground for the construction of the next block, which is located close to Faraday House. Drainage connections have already started in advance of this work so that we can provide the Venture Centre and residents of Faraday House with a safe and dedicated access route.
This approach will help us to make up time following the replacement of Mansell and save some of the time lost due to all the wet weather in early summer. We know this has caused inconvenience to residents and especially to the Venture Centre for which we apologise. We will continue to keep residents informed and work closely with the Venture Centre to minimise any disruption.
